February 6, 2010 – With a HUGE (pun intended) lack in blog posts in January, I’m hoping to make up for it by booking a handful of shoots in February and beyond. Here are a couple of shots from yesterday’s session with Michaeline (P.S. love that name).

Playing with Photoshop

January 4, 2010 – Happy New Year to all! With the New Year comes new goals for Huge Galdones Photography… one of which entails me improving my Photoshop skills. I customarily retouch pictures for color, blemishes, etc. but have never really learnt what it takes to get the porcelain skin (and glow) displayed in many editorial-style/haute couture images. With the help of good friend and fellow photographer Ben Lee, I’m slowly learning the ropes regarding the art within an art. Attached is a Lightroom and Photoshop retouched image of Jess. Thoughts? Suggestions? Critiques?

Katie and Ryan

December 13, 2009 – Hailing for Lake Zurich, IL and Kenosha, WI respectively, Katie and Ryan made the ‘long’ drive into Chicago to work with yours truly. Both are aspiring teachers, yet make the time to enjoy themselves in front of the camera (and it shows).

It’s been a busy weekend, but this will be my final in studio portraiture installment before the holidays (unless of course, something that I can’t pass up comes along).

Chicago Fashion Week

October 22, 2009 – Albeit a tad outdated, I just wanted to share a picture from Chicago Fashion Week. Whereas I’ve worked Montreal Fashion Week for many years now, this was the first time that I covered its Chicago counterpart. Featuring a gamut of local designers, it would have been nice to see more more ‘high profile’ couture. Notwithstanding, I had a great time and got a chance to meet some of Chicago’s event photographers.
