June 20, 2010 – There’s no hiding my love for food. If there’s one thing I love shooting most, food lifestyle photography would be at the *top* of the list (not to be mistaken with food photography). I don’t know what it is, but there’s something about capturing the care and artistry that goes into preparing a meal that excites me (and makes me hungry). As you’ll notice, a lot of the images focus more on the people that prepare the food rather than the food itself (not to discredit to the food, of course).
Since moving to Chicago, I’ve had very little opportunity to work in a kitchen whereas when in Montreal, I was able to not only to document the kitchen life at Joe Beef (might I add, one of Montreal’s most prestigious restaurants), but slaved in the kitchen as well.
With that said, Chef David Carriere of Kith and Kin graciously invited me to get my feet wet in his kitchen as a prep cook AND as the house photographer. If you were wondering, this photography site won’t transform into a food blog (yet), but… well.. you never know. Regardless, here are a couple of the images that illustrate the food and the people behind it. Click [here] for the complete gallery.
